For my Final Major Project on my UAL Foundation Course in Design for Theatre, Screen and Performance, I created a piece of visual media inspired by one of my favourite films, The Lives of Others.
The film tells the story of a couple plotting to escape East Germany and into the West, whilst being surveilled by a lonely member of the stazi who becomes obsessed with them.
I utilised my skills with model-making and stop-motion animation to create a mixed-media piece, which describes the playwright and his wife writing down their dreams of escape via hot air balloon. This detail was inspired a another German film of a similar subject, called Balloon.
